Dr.s Anthony and Julianne Digiorno provide services to adults and children in general dentistry, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, implants, TMD therapy, snoring and sleep apnea and more.

They are very passionate about dentistry and helping their patients have a healthy and beautiful smile that will last a lifetime.  Their emphasis is prevention.  Their goal is to help their patients prevent disease and maintain total body health, through education, nutrition and good home care. 

They stay abreast with current trends in dentistry through many hours of postgraduate education.  Digiorno Dental Fitness currently offers dentistry with the state of the art technology and materials.

Anthony Digiorno, DDS

Dr. Digiorno earned his D.D.S. from University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1970, graduating with honors.  He began practicing family dentistry in Sacramento in1973, and after one year he purchased a pediatric practice which became part of his family and orthodontic practice.  He began intensive studies in orthodontics soon after graduation and has been treating patients since in orthodontics and general dentistry.

 Dr. Digiorno previously was on staff at Roseville Hospital providing dentistry under general anesthesia.  He has been “Make A Wish” Santa to children wanting braces for Christmas.  He has volunteered as an instructor for the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry providing supervision for students caring for the underserved in Davis, CA and surrounding communities.  He has opened his office and become an active participant in the “Smiles for Kids” program, providing dentistry for underserved children in the Sacramento area.

He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Sacramento District Dental Society, International Association for Orthodontists, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and Tao Kappa Omega Honor Society.

Dr. Digiorno is married and has a son and two daughters.  In his free time, he enjoys fishing and being outdoors.  He spends most of his time in South Lake Tahoe fishing all the surrounding lakes.  He has been an active participant in Dog Shows, breeding and raising Bouvier des Flandres for the past 30 years. He is very delighted and proud to have his daughter join his practice.

Julianne Digiorno, DDS, RD

Dr. Julianne graduated from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 2004 with nine awards of distinction for excellence in clinical dentistry, crown and bridge, dentures, future educator and public health.  Prior to receiving her degree in dentistry she worked as a Registered Dietitian for hospitals in Reno, Nevada and for the Sacramento County WIC Program.  She has followed in her father’s footsteps in continuing her studies in orthodontics and has a special interest in cosmetic, implant dentistry and treating children. 

She served as the President of her dental schools outreach program providing care for the underprivileged in the Bay area.  Since graduating from dental school she has continued providing services to those in need by participating in the “Smiles for Kids” program and “Adopt a Kid” program.  Her passion for dentistry, educating and wanting to give back to the dental community lead her to become an instructor at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry from 2004-2006.

She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Sacramento District Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, International Association for Orthodontists, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.

She is married to a civil engineer and has a four year old daughter and two year old son.  In her free time, Dr. Digiorno enjoys spending time with her children, Isabella and Isaac, and husband Paul.  She is very health and exercise conscious and enjoys spending time at the gym and training for triathlons and endurance cycling.  She also enjoys showing her Akita and spending time in South Lake Tahoe snowboarding, rock climbing, and mountain biking. Her son was born with kidney disease. Her son has motivated her in cycling for special causes and become an active fundraiser, particularly for Tour de Cure and Team Donate Life.

Our Team

Digiorno Dental Fitness would like to introduce to you our dental team. These are the people that will make your dental experience a pleasant one. They will provide you with the best dental care in a friendly, caring and pain free manner.

 

Elizabeth Nelson (Office Assistant) - She will be the last person you will see at your appointment. She has been a part of our team for eight years. With her warm smile, friendly and personable service she makes sure all patients are comfortable and satisfied with their dental care. She is dedicated to making sure every patient has a pleasant dental experience. She is always available to patients to answer any questions they may have. On the weekends, she is a professional dog handler traveling throughout the country showing dogs. You may see her on T.V. at the largest dog shows in the country or right here at the Sacramento Kennel Club Dog Show. We are very lucky to have such a hardworking, focused and caring person on our team. She is married and has a five month old son, Bryce.

Zina Thruelsen (Registered Dental Assistant with Extended Functions) - She has been a part of our team for about four years. She has worked as a dental assistant since 2000. She will always greet you with a smile. Patients love her outgoing personality and great sense of humor. She is committed to making every patient feel at home with a relaxing and easy dental appointment. She is very motivated in learning new techniques so our patients always receive the best care possible. We are very pleased to have someone so dedicated to dentistry and our patients as a part of our team and family.
Zina is originally from the Ukraine. She has been in the United States for over ten years now. She is fluent in Ukrainian and Russian. She currently lives in Roseville with her husband and four children.

Shelly Coleman (Registered Dental Hygienist)

Shelly has been practicing in the field of dentistry for over 14 years. She has been a registered dental hygienist for 7 years and was a registered dental assistant for 7 years prior. She has been a been a Registered Dental Hygienist in our office for over 4 years and is very dedicated to the profession of hygiene and to all her patients. Shelly's goals are to educate her patients and keep them knowledgeable about the dangers of periodontal disease and the most current modalities used to treat it. She is passionate about dentistry and her patients health.

Shelly volunteers for the Smiles for Kids program every year, Smile Keepers of Sacramento, Childrens Dental Health Fairs and the VA Clinic. She is a member of the SCC Board of Dental Hygiene Administration.

Shelly is married and has two children and one grandson. For fun, Shelly loves to dirtbike ride, garden, cook,yoga and play with her grandson.

 

Anni Houston (Registered Dental Hygienist)-

Anni has been a part of our team for a year and we are so pleased to have her. She has integrated with our team beautifully. She has been a registered dental hygienist for six years. One of Anni's joys as a hygienist is getting to know her patients and their families, and seeing them grow over the years. She values the opportunity of helping others to improve their oral and overall health. Anni has alot of compassion for those with dental anxiety or sensitivity, so she is committed to providing a gentle, yet thorough touch in order to make each of your visits with her as comfortable, positive and rewarding as possible. She will always greet you with a smile and happily answer any questions you may have regarding your dental health. In her time away from work, she and her husband enjoy many outdoor activities including backpacking, scuba diving, and backcountry skiing. She is also a mommy to her two young dogs, Sequoia and Bandit.
